Here's the hymn I have been singing for several days as I go through the day. I love to sing. I hope you do. If I had my life to live over again I would preach more about the cross. It was there at the cross that love and mercy found me when I was six years old. I am thankful to God that I gave my heart and life to Jesus at such a young age. Now, I have opportunity to share messages about the Cross of Calvary in Hugh's News. It is at the cross that pardon is made available for all our sins. Hallelujah!

Near the Cross
Frances J. Crosby, pub 1869
Scripture: Galatians 6:14; John 19:25; Revelation 22:1-2
Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain--
Free to all, a healing stream--
Flows from Calv’ry’s mountain.
Refrain:
In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.
Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and Mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star
Sheds its beams around me.
Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadows o’er me.
Near the cross I’ll watch and wait
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.
