Rehearse God’s goodness. Notice answers to prayer. Call attention to unexpected blessings.
Have communion together.
Worship together. Let each member of the family, especially the children, take different components of the worship experience. Sing together. If that is a struggle, put on Christian music, and sing along.
Do Scripture reading and reflection.
Use reflective praying.
Include intercession, prayer for others - family/friends separated from God’s love; prayer for neighbors;
Pray for a nation, a missionary, a ministry; Special Prayer needs for others – sick, in crisis, world tragedies, drought, famine, etc.
Make petition a part of prayer – prayer for needs. That shows the families dependence on God. It invites God’s intervention. It seeks God’s guidance. It recognizes the need for protective care.
Spend time in praise. Sing and celebrate. Family worship should not be dull. Other elements might include - drama, videos, memorization, special music, character study focus, Bible lesson.
