News from the President...
Today, Thursday, November 17th, the classes ended for the fall semester of the 125th term. The students have exams and then go home on Tuesday afternoon before Thanksgiving.
It has been a good semester. There have been normal challenges, but the LORD has prevailed. We are excited about Thanksgiving. May each of our friends and donors be greatly blessed during this wonderful holiday season. Remember to practice a lifestyle of gratitude. Being unthankful can lead to many problems and even sin. Paul said, “…although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.” Romans 1:22-23 NKJV.

In our last chapel service, we glorified God. Naomi Huff, music director, led the College in Declaring Thanksgiving. It was a powerful grogram as the students, faculty, and staff participated. The LORD has brought us this far by faith.
We are thankful!
Faculty Christmas Fund
The College is still receiving contributions for the Faculty/Staff Christmas Fund. Our goal has been for four years to give them a tithe of their salary at Christmas. In previous years, we have reached our goal. This year we are a little behind! Our faculty and staff receive under half of what others receive in comparable jobs. We all do not complain. We have learned to live by faith. The LORD blesses in so many ways.
We thank each one who have given. Thank you, Chairman W.A. Mills for the challenge and giving the model. IT IS STILL NOT TOO LATE TO GIVE!

Student Costs
Holmes is still a Faith Institution. Friends and donors, led by the Lord, pay 83% of the cost per student. A student pays 17%. The students’ faith challenge is $110 per semester hour. In addition, the average dorm student receives 1/3 of their tuition in earned scholarships. A student who stays in the dorm and works 12 ½ hours per week in Work Study has NO room and board cost. They also have the advantage of Quiet Hour and time to seek the Lord. If a student lives in a dorm and works off campus, his Faith Challenge is $2,700 per semester for room and board. The meals on the campus are just fantastic.
Holmes is quite a place. I know of no other place like it. Come and see!
