I talked with Greg several times by phone on Sunday, January 24. Wesley Russ talked with him as well and told him some good jokes. He rehearsed the Scriptural passage about a merry heart: "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones" (Prov 17:22, KJV). Our blood is made in the bone marrow of in certain large bones. When we are depressed our immune system is lowered and we are more susceptible to disease.
He was able to watch some Christian TV, and heard some Gospel messages from choice servants of the Lord.
Greg has a lot of humor. He gets that from my father, Hugh Henry Morgan. I asked him if God was speaking to him. He said, "Yes, He told me to go home soon." We both laughed. My hunch is that God is speaking more specifically to Greg.
God speaks through His Word, through visions and dreams, through pastors, preachers and teachers, circumstances, and many other ways.
Greg speaks highly of the staff at his hospital. He is truly grateful. God honors those who are grateful. I told Greg that we, as Morgans, want our hallmark to be gratitude for what God does for us, as well as many others in our lives.
I am grateful to God for sending Bishop Wesley Russ to be with me for these days to help me. He prepared scrambled eggs with cheese, toast with jelly, and milk for my breakfast. For lunch, he gave me a lovely salad along with a dinner from Meals on Wheels. For our supper, Wesley made us a chicken salad with the dead chicken we had left over (we got three meals out of a rotisserie chicken). We also had a bowl of peaches and potato chips, with a Zero Coke. Delicious!
