Exchanging Our Sinfulness for Jesus' Righteousness
Author: Hugh H. Morgan
In David Holland's book, Praying Grace, he writes about the cross of Jesus Christ and the seven extraordinary gifts that God gives to us when we exchange our sinfulness for the righteousness of God. The Scripture he uses is written in 2 Corinthians 5:21, "God made Him [Jesus] Who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God" (NIV).
When we lay down our sinfulness at the cross, God gives us the righteousnes of Jesus Who lived a sinless life. The Gospel is indeed good news. How blessed we are when we come to God through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.
We exchange our sinfulness for Jesus' righteousness.
Jesus became sin for us Who never sinned in order that we might become the very righteousness of God.
It was the prophet Isaiah who revealed this truth in this important matter. The Holy Spirit revealed though Isaiah, "The Lord has laid on Him
the iniquity of us all" (Isa 53:6, NIV). It was the Apostle John, the beloved disciple of Jesus, who stood beside Mary the mother of Jesus at the cross,
who wrote, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:10
NIV
i am so thankful to God that I was saved, born again, when I was six years old. My heart was tender toward God. He gave me the ability to repent
of my sins and turn to Jesus for saving grace. In December I will be 90 years old. It is my heart's desire to praise God, give Him all the glory and
honor for what He has done and is doing in my life. I want to be a witness to Jesus and lead many souls to Christ.
The Holy Spirit Who dwells within me constantly speaks to me through the Word of God and in my thoughts and prayers.
