[Editor's Comment: It was my privilege and honor to get to know Carolyn Pearson. She and her husband, Frank Pearson, were faithful members of Tarkenton Memorial Church in Athens, GA. She was a gracious and friendly person. She was ever-ready to help others. Before I became pastor, Carolyn and Frank were vital members of the bus ministry. They were bus captains and helped to recruit children and youth for our Sunday school and church. In the old church, Carolyn worked with children's church as well as the nursery.
During my tenure as pastor she was an administrator at Athens Christian College in downtown Athens, near the Holiday Inn. I was often invited to hear lectures and to participate in various forums of interest to me. I enjoyed the privilege to use their extensive library to do research for sermons and subjects I was interested in teaching. I enjoyed visiting in their home in Winterville which was next door to Austin and Rebecca Joyce Johnson Burnette.
Carolyn's husband, Frank Pearson was a great singer and sang in a trio with two of his sisters, Blenda Pearson Smith, and Vonnie Pearson Parnell. Frank has the quality voice that would have gotten him a place in Bill Gaither's Vocal Band. In addition, Frank served faithfully a deacon of our church, and he was a good golfer. Every year he and Charles Wilson would go down to the Master's Professional Golf Tournament.]
