Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Wins South Region Title! traveled to Southern Wesleyan for a NCCAA Regional Playoff Match.
As a conference Carolinas opponent, the EC Team knew of the the big challenge ahead! In doubles play, the Warriors earned wins in two out of the three doubles to get an important lead in the dual. The sole win for the Lions came from Cipriano/Silva at #3 by a smashing 8-0.
Looking for at least 4 extra wins in singles, the Lady Lions had to dig deeper, but they did not disappoint! Sophomore Chloe O'Connor gave the overall tie with a solid 6-3 6-2 win on court #6. Not too long after, Fantine Botella kept her invincibility against Conference Carolinas Opponents this season with a 6-3 6-4 win on court #1. The fourth point came from sophomore, Pearllan Cipriano, who is also undefeated in singles play against conference foes, on court #2 by 6-2 7-5. The clinching point was decided with an impressive win by the hands of freshman, Victoria Silva, on court #4, who had to battle back from a 5-2 deficit on the first set but clinching the match and the fifth point by 7-5 6-3.
This win gives the Lions the South Regional Title and the spot to play at the NCCAA National Tournament that kicks off on May 9th in Mobile, Alabama.
