As General Superintendent of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, I hereby declare a time of prayer and fasting for January 1-21, 2017. Around the world, we within the tribe of believers known as the IPHC are encouraged to join together to call for an awakening and revival.
Each night during these 21 days there is a Virtual Prayer Meeting in which we can join with hundreds of other believers from many denominations. The call will be from 9:00-10:30 p.m. EST. To join this call as a listener please dial (605) 562-3173. No access code is required.

To assist in our prayer effort a prayer guide which includes excerpts from the book Jesus Now! God is Up to Something Big by Tom Phillips is available for download.
Phillips writes about revival in this manner, “We can’t predict it. We can’t plan it. We can’t shape it. We can only trust that when our nation reaches a point of spiritual, moral and social no-return—as it appeared to do at least three distinct times in history—an extraordinary movement of God’s Spirit may move in extraordinary ways in response to prayer for God’s broken, contrite children. Every time God has moved in our country, He has done so through the simple confession, brokenness, and obedience of individuals.”
Prayer and fasting. These words were often spoken and recorded for us from Jesus. To further emphasize our prayer time, I encourage you to fast during the time of January 9-15. Each person is encouraged to fast in a manner that is pertinent and helpful to you.
The IPHC core value focus for 2017 is “We Prayerfully Value Christ’s Kingdom.” We pray that we will allow Christ’s Kingdom to grow within each of us and then to use us to expand His Kingdom in our communities.
General Superintendent Dr. Doug Beacham
[Editor's comment: I joined the Virtural Prayer Meeting via telephone as a listener on Sunday and Monday nights, January 1 and 2. It was a powerful time of receiving information about what God is doing in the lives of thousands of people, and especially among leaders of Congress who are meeting to pray. All over the country there is a movement of prayer among the people of God who are praying for an awakening and a revival for our nation. Monday night, we learned of what God is doing to transform men in prisons, namely in Houston, TX,
Last night Bishop Doug Beacham was one of the leaders and Dr. Lou Shirey and Lydia Figueroa, the WIN Director for the North Carolina joined him in sharing what God is doing in their area of ministry. Lydia prayed in English as well as Spanish. She is a powerful woman of prayer. Bishop Beacham's reference to Simeon in Luke 2 was insightful as he showed from Scripture the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit in Simeon's life. May I encourage you to call in tonight.

Sunday night, Bishop Tim Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God, was present to share what the Church of God is doing to carry the Gospel to the unreached peoples of our world. Exciting things are happening. You will be encouraged and informed about what God is doing in the lives of people from all church backgrounds.
May God help us to find our place of ministry as we seek the face of God for our communities and local churches. There is no doubt about it, we just need to get together as friends, as Dr, Lou Shirey told us in his presentation, to enage in Spirit led and empowered prayer.
Jesus said, "that men ought always to pray, and not to faint" (Luke 18:1, KJV).
Jesus said, "that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up) (Luke 18:1,
