Dear Holmes Family and readers of Hugh's News:
I trust that you are enjoying the Christmas season. It is a joyful time as we celebrate the birth of Jesus who saves from sin and restores our relationship with the Father. No wonder we light here on campus the advent candles of love, joy, hope and peace. All of this comes to us through Him who is the Light of the World.
The world is so full of darkness, but we rejoice that the Light of Christ shines in the darkness brighter than any noon day sun. We have the privilege of walking in the light and sharing that light with a world that 'walks in darkness.'
We are deeply grateful for the prayerful and financial support of our alumni and friends through the year. Your gifts are essential to the continuing ministry of Holmes in equipping men and women for service in Kingdom ministry. Just recently two of our students entered the global mission field to share the light of the Gospel as missionaries: one in Japan and the other in Papau, New Guinea.
The Lord is indeed our Jehovah Jireh, and we are thankful for His provision of the college through your faithful support. He has blessed us with a great semester, and it is so exciting to see what God is doing in the lives of our students.
The Lord bless you and your family with a most joyous and worshipful Christmas season. Let us join together for a blessed New Year.
Grace and peace,
President James D. Leggett
