America’s Prayer Meeting -- April 12-13, 2021
America’s Prayer Meeting- April – a national, virtual multidenominational event
On Monday evening, April 12, the nation’s Christians will again gather for a national, virtual prayer meeting hosted by the Central Church of God in Charlotte, NC. Dr. David Butts, Chair of the National Prayer Committee, has observed only a handful of congregations across the nation with significant prayer meetings. One is led by Pastor Loran Livingston. Before the Covid19 outbreak, the prayer meeting at Central had experienced turn-away crowds.
The Livestream event will begin at 6 PM EST and can be viewed at americapray.net and on social media channels at americapray365.
More than a hundred thousand people joined America’s Prayer Meeting in March.
P. Douglas Small declared, “This is not an event. It is a movement – a movement calling for the resurrection of prayer meetings, in congregations and throughout our cities - everywhere. This was Paul’s prayer model, urged in first-century churches, that ‘men pray everywhere, lifting holy hands, without wrath or doubting.’”
Dai Sup Han, the prayer mobilizer for Transform USA and Promise Keepers, has joined the Pray America team as the national prayer mobilizer. He and his team are identifying prayer champions in every state and county throughout the nation.
Brian Alarid of America Prays will lead a segment of America’s Prayer Meeting on Tuesday morning, at 9 AM EST, along with almost a dozen city prayer leaders and mobilizers who are inviting God to their city.
Dave Butts will cohost the afternoon session, from 1:30 PM to 4 PM. National prayer events planned for the next few months will be showcased - the National Rooftop Prayer Experience in Washington, DC planned for May 4, along with the National Day of Prayer, May 6; and on Pentecost Sunday weekend, the March for Jesus event, May 23; and finally, the ‘Pray America, Pray’ saturation prayer events across the nation that are planned in July 2021.
Any significant, sustained renewal depends on praying churches led by praying pastors. On Tuesday evening, Doug Small will be joined by John Robb, of Transform USA, formerly leader of the International Prayer Council; Tom Phillips, Vice President of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association; Loran Livingston, Pastor, Central Church of God; Terry Teykl, International Prayer Leader and others. The focus will be – Praying Pastors: Praying Churches.
P. Douglas Small is providing resources and vision for these events. “We are creating a virtual space for believers and intercessors to meet and pray for spiritual places where America can meet for prayer - prayer that invites God’s intervention. We have no other hope!”
