From Plowboy to Pentecostal Bishop
Author: Ed Koonce
I plan to read the book. Growing up in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, I attended the local Pentecostal Holiness church, which was moved from College Hill just northeast of town. Kingfisher College, which was built there, dissolved as a result of WWI when so many students left school to join the war. The Pentecostal Holiness denomination bought the campus and opened a Christian based college, naming it King's College, after Bishop King. The church building I attended had been a two-story structure used for church services. The bottom floor had become so deteriorated that when it was moved into town only the top floor was moved and placed on a foundation next door to my home. The house I lived in had been a small "filling station" and convenience store at the college. My dad bought it and had it moved into town before the church was moved in. I lived in that small house until I left to attend Southwestern Bible College in Oklahoma City.
