In these so uncertain times, in which we are living, in the midst of a pandemic that is killing millions of people, being quarantined or at least having limited movement, despondency can be an unwelcomed intruder. It doesn’t pick its victims. Rich, poor, black or brown or white, old or young there are no discriminating factors for this demonic, invisible impostor. Sometimes it seems good to relax, close your eyes and try to take a trip to some past enjoyable time or just to thank God for all the blessings He has provided.
As I close my eyes, and I visualize the things God wrought for me,
I hear the gentle breeze, as it rustles through the tall majestic trees.
I see myself as a little child running across the grass so green,
I see the golden daffodils with their faces sheen, all a gleam.
I watch the white clouds slowly waft, through the heavenly, ethereal skies,
I hear the birds singing glorious songs, I see the eagle soaring on high.
A squirrel scampers swiftly through giant arms of the beautiful, lofty oaks at rest,
To a succulent acorn high on a branch and races back to his finely hewn nest.
I hear a splash and turn around, to see a small fish jump into the air,
From a small pond so clear and bright, as the ripples course over with a flair.
All around me there’s nothing I can view, that doesn’t have God’s touch clearly seen,
The artistry, the grandeur, the regal scene, of the Supernatural Creator supreme.
I sit not wanting to open my eyes, sensing God’s presence all around,
Then it dawns on me, eyes open or closed, God’s presence will always abound.
I say a prayer softly as I take in the imagery from memories that are so dear,
It’s times like these that God uses, to eradicate our dastardly fears.
So, thank you, Lord, for the ability we possess, no matter what our uncertain frame,
To look through the mist of an unkind world, and see your kind face plain.
But more than this the surety we have, that you’re guiding us every day,
To the place in our minds that we know for sure that you have complete sway.
Now I open my eyes, with a smile on my face, praising God for this dream so grand,
Knowing no matter what comes, no matter what goes, I’m complete in His healing hands.
