Psalm 37:1-6
1 Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord
and He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in Him and He will do this:
6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
NIV
In Psalm 37, these two words "Fret Not" are mentioned three times. The word "Fret" means to be anxious, worry, wear down by friction, deplete of energy and strength. There are 40 verses in this chapter.
To overcome fretting and worrying we are encouraged to trust in the Lord when we face difficulties as well divine interruptions that often come in the Christian's life.
I like what the Apostle Paul has to say about worry in the Book of Philippians, chapter 4:6-7:
6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. 7 Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

As we approach this upcoming election both nationally and in our respective states as well as Thanksgiving Day, we need to trust God as never before.
May the abiding peace of God guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. He's a wonderful Lord and Savior Who will see us through this period of our history.
