I was overjoyed to get a telephone call from Air Force Chaplain, Colonel, Chad Bellamy on Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2022.
He reminded me that it was exactly 20 years ago, on December 2, that I administered the oath of office for him to become an officer in the Air Force as a chaplain with the rank of Captain. I remember it well since he reminded me of the historic event which occured at the recruitment office in Athens, Georgia. From that initial rank and nineteen years later Chad was promoted full colonel while he was a resident student in the Air War College. I was honored to recruit, endorse and administer the oath of office to Chad Bellamy.
God has certainly blessed Chad and his wife, Jeri. They have three outstanding children who are growing up rapidly. They are the Mighty Parker, Sweet Daisy, and Adorable Asher. Asher is a fifth grader and is playing basketball. Chad has the privilege to coach Asher in basketball. Chad told me that Asher has a tender heart toward God.
Chad and Jeri Bellamy are right where God wants them to be. They are at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Chad is the Deputy Command Chaplan of Air Mobility Command.
Join me in praying for Chaplain Chad Bellamy, Jeri, and their children. Jeri also accepted a call from God to be a chapain's wife and help him in his ministry. Jeri is gifted in music and is a good singer. She calls me "the Reverend Doc." She is a good mother. She has imparted to her children the eternal truths about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Her father was a Pentecostal Holiness pastor.
