Hugh's News & Commentary

This is my thirteenth (13th) year of publishing Hugh's News. We have gone through a significant number of changes--names for the newsletter, various formats, and now a professionally designed website and newsletter format.

I am always seeking ways to develop a better newsletter by better news reporting and coverage, listening to your concerns and needs, and by praying for all of you in my private prayer time. My desire is to serve the various ministries of the IPHC (International Pentecostal Holiness Church) as well as the body of Christ worldwide.

I believe that the gracious hand of God is upon my life and ministry. He continually grants me favor and success. I have come to understand God's favor as the Holy Spirit's intervention in my life or your life at the point of our need. I am so grateful for a place to serve in the Kingdom of God and in the church. For thriteen years now I have served as the director/endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC. In fact, I will be flying to Oklahoma City on Wednesday, September 15, for a Chaplains Ministries, IPHC Board Meeting. God is blessing this ministry and we continue to process new applicants for the chaplaincy, both institutional and military.

We have come through this summer with continued blessings. Although our finances are at the lowest level since we began receiving contributions, we have been able to pay all of our bills on time. However, we need almost $1,000 in income within the next week to meet all of our obligations. We want to have an even greater opportunity to meet the new challenges that God is giving us. What is most humbling for me, and it is a good thing, is that I am having to live by faith. My trust is in God. I know He can do the impossible. I believe He alone is able to touch the hearts of my readers to give to this ministry. All the glory, honor, praise and thanksgiving belong to God who has raised up this ministry of electronic Christian journalism.

I was greatly encouraged this week when a retired minister in our denomination wrote the following letter and I quote only a part of it: "My friend and brother in Christ, Thank you for your giftings in the area of journalism. Hugh's News keeps us up to date on what is happening in our church and beyond. This check will help you some on Hugh's News." He enclosed a check for $25. You will never know how that note and gift meant to me unless I tell you. It bolstered my spirit and gave me new strength to continue this work and ministry to all of you.

What I need at this point in time is to get Partners who will give monthly, quarterly, or annually in support of this ministry.
