It may surprise you that today's benediction or blessing is included in Paul's greetings to the Christians at Colosse.
What a magnanimous blessing this one is. I find myself including it in my e-mails and letters. "May everything good from God our Father be yours." However, I add the word "heavenly" Father.
James, a half brother of our Lord Jesus Christ wrote: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" (James 1:17, KJV).
King David wrote:
Psalm 84:11-12
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
12 O LORD of hosts,
Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Expect good things to happen to you. Our God goes before us, stays with us, and follows after us. He has promised never to abandon us. Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God.
Here is what we read in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord"
(KJV).
