Well, Praise the Lord! Earlier on Tuesday morning I received an e-mail from Chaplain, Major (Select) Randy Sellers, USAF who is deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan, where he is ministering to wounded and dying soldiers at the SSG Heathe N. Craig Hospital. He reported that the bandannas had arrived and that he was giving them to the soldiers. He will have a photo of two soldiers who have received the bandannas.
Chaplain Sellers wishes to say "thank you" to all who gave on this project, and I want to add my gratitude to his.
Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." I have discovered that the word "blessed" here means more fruitful and productive. It is only what I give that God can bless and multiply. Recently, I was able to connect the dots in the ministry of Jesus. I knew that He died as He lived. It was on the cross that the first prayer he uttered and the gift he gave to those who crucified Him was "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." He gave forgiveness to those who hung Him on the Cross.

In the Lord's Prayer, our Lord Jesus taught us to ask God to forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Receiving forgiveness is vital to our spiritual well being and our relationship with God. But offering or giving forgiveness to those who have hurt or wronged us ensures mental, spiritual, and physical health. That kind of giving produces joy and peace.
I want to thank all of you who gave, especially two of our IPHC military chaplains, one active duty and the other in the reserve. Those particular gifts really touched my heart. I am grateful for all of our chaplains, and I pray for them daily.
Let us continue to pray for Chaplain Randy Sellers, his soldiers, airmen, sailors, marines, and guardsmen, as well as his family back home. The sacrifices of Shelia and the children are great indeed as they are separated from Randy.
