The Jay Stone Singers won their way into the hearts of the audience

What an evening of inspiring Gospel singing when The Jay Stone Singers took the platform at the FCH Chapel Monday, November 22, 2010, at 7 o'clock. Although I did not count the number of people in attendance, I would estimate there were 75 or more people present for this amazing concert. Among those who were in attendance were Presiding Bishop Ronald W. Carpenter, Sr. and his wife, Nan.

The Jay Stone Singers is a lovely family of talented and dedicated singers. Their voices blended well, and their harmony is out of this world. They opened the concert with two back-to-back A Capella songs--"This is My Day, All Day Long," and "A Longing for Heaven."  Their selection of songs will please old and young alike. I would highly recommend them to your church for a service.

I want to commend Joey Leggett for inviting The Jay Stone Singers to sing on the night before Harvest Train. It appears that this may be an annual event on the campus of Falcon Children's Home.

About The Jay Stone Singers

The ministry of the Jay Stone Singers began in the small North Carolina town of Hope Mills in October of 1976. Jay Stone, the group's founder, was serving as the choir director at his home church, Mount Carmel Pentecostal Holiness, in Fayetteville, NC. Having been involved with various local Southern Gospel groups for most of his adult life; Jay was beginning to feel that God was directing him to take his ministry back on the road. However, this time would be different because the group was to be made up of Jay, his wife Mary, their 13 year old son Jeff, their 11 year old daughter Sharona, and a few close friends.

In June of 1984 Bobby Carter joined the group to sing tenor and play the bass guitar. Bobby and Sharona were married in November of 1987.

In January of 2010 Jay and Mary Stone decided it was time to retire from all of the traveling. They continue to support this ministry through their continuous prayers as well as managing the group business.

Today’s group consists of Bobby and Sharona Carter and their children, Stone Carter, 16 and Emma Carter, 13. During the last 34 years of ministering through song, they have traveled in 19 states, Canada and Mexico. The Jay Stone Singers have recorded ten projects over the years. They have just finished their 11th project which was recorded with Crossroads Music on the Pinnacle Label.

This family group provides an exciting evangelistic ministry. Their desire is to witness to the lost, encourage the hurting and motivate others to grow the Kingdom of God. The close family harmonies are sure to please your ears, but the anointing and love of God will stir your soul.
