To my utter amazement and surprise, I was introduced to the world famous Christian artist and sculptor Max Greiner of Kerrsville, TX, last Friday, November 11, 2011, on Veterans Day.
I had seen his work in sculpture, especially the famous Divine Servant sculpture of Jesus washing the feet of Peter (see this sculpture on this website: www.greinermemorials.com). In fact, earlier this year I had purchase one of them with a wooden base, with a NIV Bible inserted in the slot under the base. It was my privilege to have Retired Air Force Chaplain, Colonel David C. Sessions, present it to our featured keynote speaker, Chaplain, Major General Cecil Richardson for our 2011 IPHC Chaplains, Spouses, and Friends Retreat at Founders Inn, Virginia Beach, VA. David and Chaplain, Major General Cecil Richardson, now Chief of Air Force Chaplains, were classmates in the Air Force Chaplain Officer Basic Leadership Course in 1977. Chaplain Richardson spoke in "Moral Courage."
Meanwhile, while talking to a member of the office staff of Max Greiner's place of business, the lady said, "Dr. Morgan, would you like to speak with Artist Max Greiner?" I was speechless. Finally, I was able to put words on my lips and said, "I will be delighted and honored to speak with Max Greiner!" Then, she connected me with Max Greiner.
Immediately, there was a bonding of our spirits and we felt we had known each other for a lifetime. Max said, "Hugh, I believe this call was by 'Divine Appointment.'" And, I felt the same way.
Max began to share with me about the vision God had given him for The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden on the top of a hill in Kerrsville, TX, on Interstate 10, about 60 miles northwest of San Antonio, TX.
My spirit rejoiced as Max Greiner shared his vision with me, and I knew that I wanted Hugh's News to be a part of promoting this vision God had given Max Greiner and his wife, Sherry, and confirmed by many others. So, today, I will begin a series of stories (blogs) with you about this Sculpture Prayer Garden.
