Stephanie Morgan, a courageous and commitment young Christian teacher, has a good report

Stephanie Ellen Morgan, Hugh and Melvine Morgan's daughter, gave this report to her father, Hugh Morgan, on Monday, October 31, after a visit at her oncologist's office, "Dad, my visit today went far better than I had imagined. I am grateful that things are looking up for me."

Stephanie went on to tell me that she was informed that when she begins chemotherapy on Friday afternoon that the first dose will greatly help relieve the pain she is currently having along with nausea.

Last Thursday, October 27, she had a surgical procedure where she had a Smart Port embedded in her upper left arm. "The Smart Port power-injectable port offers the ability for a clinician to access a vein for intravenous (I. V.) injection therapy of medications or fluids and for administering power injected contrast to perform a Computed Tomography (CT) scan."

In addition, she had a CAT scan. The results revealed that there was some increased activity in her liver. The plan is to give Stephanie chemotherapy one day a week for three weeks, and then been off for a week, and start all over again. We are believing that God will use this chemotherapy to kill the cancer cells in her liver, and bring complete healing for her body.

Stephanie taught a half day on Monday, October 31, but plans to teach every day this week. She is a courageous and strong young woman who fights pain and wins over adversity by knowing that God will sustain her in the midst of her difficulty and give her the strength she needs in the context of human weakness.

We have been inundated with scores of e-mails and telephone calls from readers of Hugh's News who have declared they are standing with us in their prayers for Stephanie. People from all across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, and all over the world have contacted us with words of encouragement and commitment to pray for Stephanie and our family.

Following her surgery last Thursday to install the Smart Port in her upper left arm, she stayed at our home until Sunday evening under the watchful care of her mother, with her father standing near by to help as needed.

I took Stephanie and Melvine to my favorite restaurant in Athens Monday evening, Rafferty's after they returned from the doctor's office. Rafferty's has the best chicken salad and potato soup with bacon bits in the known world, and that is what I often eat when I want to eat lightly.  I have been a customer of this restaurant since it opened about 20 years ago. By the way, their steaks are delicious, too.

Melvine, Stephanie, and I, along with our son, Greg, want to thank you all for your continued prayers for our Stephanie. It is my prayer that God will grant her wisdom and glowing health (Daniel 2:23, The Living Bible).

Your friend in all seasons,

 Hugh H. Morgan
