We hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 24, 2011.
The Psalmist has this to say in Psalm 26:7-8:
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works.
LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house,
And the place where Your glory dwells.
NKJV
Another passage comes to my mind as I compose this Hugh's News:
Psalm 16:6
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
KJV
That is my testimony on this Thanksgiving night as I work in my office over my garage.
I have a goodly heritage. I thank God that I was born in a Christian home, my father a pastor and church planter in the Pentecostal Holiness Church, my mother a former missionary to China before I was born. I thank God for my sister, Mary Evelyn Morgan McDuff of Birmingham, AL, and her family. I thank God daily for giving Melvine to me to be my wife now for more than 51 years. She, too, was born in a Christian home and her parents were faithful laymen in the Draper Pentecostal Holiness Church in North Carolina. I thank God for our children, Gregory Holmes Morgan and Stephanie Ellen Morgan.
We were not able to celebrate Thanksgiving Day like we would have enjoyed with a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner cooked and prepared by Melvine, the best cook in the known world. Stephanie remains in the hospital at Athens Regional Medical Center until everything clears up. However, Melvine, Greg and I drove over to Cracker Barrel for a lovely Thanksgiving Dinner with turkey, cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, ham, green beans, and sweet potatoes. To top it off, we had a delicious piece of pumpkin pie with cool whip on the top. We saw many families gathered to have dinner together and that was beautiful to behold.
Stephanie has the best of medical care. The Cystoscopy that her urologist did on Wednesday revealed no abnormalities in her bladder or kidneys, no stones, growths or cancer. However her bladder was badly inflamed. She is receiving antibiotics, and IVs to wash out her kidneys and bladder, along with potassium, and vitamin K.
Stephanie has developed laryngitis following her surgery. That is not good, but we believe she will recover and be able to talk and sing normally again.
There have been so many wonderful responses from you my readers of Hugh's News and I am grateful. Your words of encouragement, faith, hope and love has bolstered by faith. Let me share two of them:
Susan Caddell from Falcon, NC (one of the twin daughters of Eddie and Daisy Morris--her sister, Sandra Landry), picked up the Scripture I had quoted earlier this week in Hugh's News that is recorded in Isaiah 58 and made it a Rhema Word for Stephanie:
"Stephanie's healing shall spring forth speedily.
And her righteousness shall go before her;
The glory of the Lord shall be Stephanie's rear guard.
Then Stephanie shall call, and the Lord will answer:
Stephanie shall cry, and He will say,
'Here I am , Stephanie.'"
Years ago I heard a powerful testimony by Dodie Osteen, Joel Osteen's mother. She was healed of terminal liver cancer. Her other son, a physician, knew Dodie was at the mercy of our Lord. Our Lord is doing the same for our Stephanie.
Her healing is springing forth speedily!
No better chemo than the Word of our Living Lord!
Prayers continued? You bet!!
With great love for you and yours~
Susan Caddell
Then, this word from Ruth Jones from Greenville, NC. She is a member of the Greenville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a key to their successful Bible Quizz teams for many years. We had the privilege of touring the Holy Land with Ruth and about 16 others in our group in 2005.
"Hugh and Melvine,
Betty le Roux shared with me the message you sent about Stephanie. I am sorry to hear that she is experiencing these trying times. I know that all of you have great faith and trust in God; what could we do without Him? I pray that God will use Stephanie to show us HIS great power so that His name can be lifted up.

I thank God for allowing me to be the editor of Hugh's News. I am overwhelmed that God would give me such a vast ministry. John the Baptist said, "The God of heaven appoints every man his mission and work in life." This greatest of all prophets went on to proclaim, "He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30, KJV).
And now, as we come to the close of this particular blog, let me ask you a question! Will you receive the Benediction God has for you and your family?
Numbers 6:22-27
The Priestly Blessing or the Aaronic Benediction
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 23 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:
"The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace."'
27 "So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them."
NKJV
I am counting on God to bless you through this Benediction which is His Holy Word to you and me.
Your friend in all seasons,
Hugh H. Morgan
