"Seed left in the barn will never produce a harvest in the field."

I am a blessed man to know Malcolm Burton, pastor of Northgate Family Church in Spring, TX. He writes a daily devotional every day of the week. I am one of his many subscribers. He is a great writer and an excellent expositor of the Word of God. The other day I was struck by a quote he gave from a pastor friend of his,"Seed left in the barn will never produce a harvest in the field" (the Rev. Mr. Bev Herring).

This year I have not lived up to what I teach and preach about gardening and growing tomatoes. I have allowed other things to take priority, and I still have tomato seeds I have not planted in my starter kits. As long as they are in envelopes on a shelf in our home, they will never grow healthy tomato vines with lush tomatoes, some weighing over a pound a piece. I do have a few tomato plants growing with nice size green tomatoes. But tomorrow, I plan to plant the seeds in my starter kit. I hope to have a late crop this year, all the way to frost time.

I take full responsibility for my own inaction and lackadaisical attitude. Now, I will move into action.

It may be that you, like me, have not planted your seed by giving to Hugh's News, Inc. or enlisting others to subscribe to Hugh's News. I am sure you have many good reasons for not responding to my requests, and I am sure they are all reasonable.

I must confess that I really need your help. We are not getting new subscribers like I feel and believe we should, and our bank account is now at the lowest it has been in several years. These are summer months and I know many of you will be traveling, taking vacations, etc. Now, your tithes (actually the Lord's tithes) belong in the church where you are fed the Word of God. If you sense God directing you to plant a seed above the tithe as an offering into this ministry, we will be happy to receive your gifts.

Currently, Hugh's News is being read by over 5,000 readers all across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the isles of the Seas. Our goal is to add 5,000 more readers and to have a total 0f 10,000 readers around the world.

So many of you are writing and saying "thank you" for this ministry that you cannot get anywhere else.
