The Psalmist David penned an exciting statement that incompasses both an encouragement to pray and ask God for something specific and special, and a promise to those who are interested in a world view that includes the salvation of the nations. That Word is recorded in Psalm 2:8, and it is what I want to write about today:
"Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession" (Psalm 2:8, NIV ).
One day very soon we will greet the saints from all the nations. It will be a grand, glorious, and joyous celebration. There will be in that day no longer a separation from each other, for we will be together with the Lord of Glory, Jesus Christ forever and forever. Our heavenly Father will share with us (actually reveal to us) " . . . in the ages to come the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:7, KJV). I want to be with you in that gigantic classroom experience in heaven.
Hugh's News is reaching to the nations. If you are a subscriber and a contributor to this electronic newsletter you are a vital part of what God is doing. The message of the Gospel we bring is the Gospel of peace and reconciliation. It is a message that will meet the world's deepest need.
This past week I published the names of countries where people are reading Hugh's News. It is amazing that from a small farm (an acre of land with two above the ground gardens that are producing an abundance of fresh vegetables) where I live and move and have my being, that the newsletter which God has given to me to produce is reaching the nations. Who would have dreamed of it? Apparently King David did by divine revelation. So, we are in good company.
So far, Osvaldo Pupillio from Argentina has written and here is what he wrote:
"Thanks for your news I receive daily. God bless you always. From Argentina. Osvaldo Pupillo."
Wherever you are today in God's wide world, please do me a favor and that of more than 5,000 readers, by writing and letting us know who you are and what country is your residence or where you are reading Hugh's News.
Let me print once again the names of the countries that my Webmaster, Mel Tinney, sent me:
The following are the countries where people read Hugh's News on Tuesday, February 22, 2011:
Argentina
South Africa
Kenya
Spain
Serbia
Romania
Netherlands
India
Vietnam
Malaysia
If your country was not listed, let he hear from you. I do know we have subscribers in France, Germany, Bangladesh, Mexico, and Canada.
A few months ago, a governmental official in China googled the name of a person about whom I had written in Hugh's News. He was actually a North Korean, but knew this individual that was in one of my news stories in Hugh's News. He contacted me by means of the Internet, saw Hugh's News and wrote me, and I was able then to get him connected to this person in a southwestern state.
It can be said without fear of contradiction, that Hugh's News is touching the lives of countless hundreds of people around the world.
Our goal and mission is to present the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in such a winsome and convincing way that those without a personal knowledge and relationship with God through Jesus Christ may be persuaded to make a decision for Christ and be saved. The Bible declares that whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. His Name is Jesus. One day, every knee of all races, cultures, and nations shall fall down before Him and confess that He is Lord. Now, is the time to make that decision.
God so loved the world (people) that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For those who receive Him, God gives authority and power to become sons of God (read John's Gospel). It's as simple as ABC: Accept the Gospel message, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and Confess your sins, and confess that Jesus is your Savior and Lord.
When you make your decision, please contact me and let me know.
