Presiding Bishop Ronald W. Carpenter Sr. expresses gratitude for your love

I know you have heard by now that Nan’s middle brother, Earl, died suddenly January 12th. He had fallen off of the roof of his house shortly after Christmas while trying to repair a TV Antenna. He was badly broken up and had a ruptured spleen and bladder. They had operated on him twice, and then moved him this past Tuesday to a rehabilitation facility. He seemed to be improving slowly. We are not sure of the cause of death, but they feel at this point that he had a blood clot that worked lose and went to his heart or lungs causing his sudden demise. This was an especially crushing blow to Nan because Earl had stepped up to the plate after her father died when she was 19 years old. He was like a brother and a father and will be greatly missed by her as well as a host of others. I have included his official obituary below for additional information.

During the last few days we have received an unbelievable number of phone calls, e-mails, texts, and voice mails literally from all over the world expressing condolences and prayers. The volume was so great there was no way we could answer them all individually. However, they were all so important and so meaningful to us, that we felt they could not go unanswered in some way. This e-mail is my and Nan’s feeble way of saying “Thank You” for caring for us, loving us, and praying for us and our family during these days of adjustment to this loss. You are such a wonderful church family and we love each and every one of you. Continue to pray, especially for Nan. She will miss Earl in many ways but especially the extended conversations she had with him by phone, sometimes as much as 3-4 times per week.

Remember also, that our love and prayers are with you as you encounter your own battles in life. We know that two are better than one, and a three-fold cord is not easily broken. May we pray diligently one for another as we encounter and defeat the inevitable giants that often seek to keep us out of our promised land of blessing!

Sincerely,

Ronald & Nan Carpenter
