[Editor's comment: Had it not been for Lynn Pittman, my former secretary and office manager when I was pastor of Good Shepherd Pentecostal Holiness Church in downtown Birmingham, AL, I would not have known about Mrs. Joanne Thompson's death.

It is only when my readers inform me and send me the news can I report fast-breaking news stories.

I want to thank Mel Tinney, my fabulous webmaster for sizing the photo of Joanne for me late Saturday evening. He saved the day!

It is most unfortunate that the company that sends out my newsletter in a mass distribution did not pick up Hugh's News on Sunday, March 6, 2011, for your to read. Consequently, those in the Greenville, SC, area did not know about Mrs. Thompson's death and funeral service on Sunday.

Let us remember Mrs. Thompson's family in our prayers.]
