Pastor John Hedpeth pays tribute to Cal Maulden, a great Christian lady

We are well with the exception of my losing my precious secretary, Cal Maulden, after a two-year bout with ovarian cancer. She was almost 82 and was a prodigy. She worked with the Army CID (Criminal Investigations) for 39 years. She never missed a day of work.

At 57 years of age she left her former profession and came to be my secretary. She could shorthand 110 words a minute, type just as fast and played trumpet after 60 years. She played softball and was sliding into second base at age 60. She was phenomenal! She was one of the greatest women I have ever known and we will miss her. John Hedgepeth wrote the above tribute to Cal Maulden.

John Hedgepeth is a prince of preachers, an evangelist who genuinely loves people and wins them to Jesus Christ. He is on the cutting edge of God's work in our world today, and he personally often makes missions trips with his people and medical teams. Every week he goes out with his team of witnesses who are trained in Evangelism Explosion. He practices what he preaches.

Whenever John calls or writes he always lifts my spirit, and encourages me. He really knows how to celebrate even when life is not perfect, and in this world that is so confused and suffering he maintains His joy and peace. He really knows how the story of mankind ends--that Jesus will be triumphant, and He will surely bind up the brokenhearted. He is the resurrection and the life. What a blessed hope we have in Jesus our Savior and Lord.

I am blessed to have a friend like John Hedgepeth. I hope you will get to meet him too. He is the senior pastor of Northwood Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Fayetteville, NC. He, and his wife, Fay, are a handsome couple--strikingly so.
