Fannette Pauline Lowe
Fannette Pauline Lowe, 80, of 156 Sherwood Drive, Danville, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 13, 2011.
“Fannie” was born September 5, 1930, in Tazewell County (Seaboard), she was the daughter of the late Whitt Lowe and Pollie Nipper Lowe.
At the age of 16, she came to Danville, VA, to work in Dan River Mills. She attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church and at the age of 21, she felt the Call of God to work with the Chinese people. She served in the mission field for 39 years in Hong Kong and mainland China. She attended Holmes Theological College and Danville Memorial School of Nursing, and was instrumental in starting the Burchell Scaroboro Medical Clinic in Hong Kong.
Survivors include one sister, Flossie Howard, of Danville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Myron Bruce, Dr. Harold Dalton, Bishop Tommy McGhee and Rev. Shukyi Li, from the Hong Kong Pentecostal Holiness Church, will be held Monday, May 16, 2011, at 2 p. m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Danville, VA.
Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:45 to 1:45 p. m. prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the residence, 156 Sherwood Drive, Danville.
A very special "thank you" is extended to the volunteers and caregivers for Miss Lowe.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: World Mission Ministries, c/o First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1810 N. Main St., Danville, VA 24540.
