As we move into the month of December and think of bringing this year to a close, may I take this opportunity to remind you that your continued prayers and financial support are essential to the furtherance of this newsletter ministry.
It is my belief that when God gives a vision, He always comes through with the provision. That has been true with Hugh's News. We started this newsletter, by a different name, 13 years ago with only 13 subscribers. The original purpose was to inform, inspire, and communicate with our IPHC military chaplains on active duty, and to let them know that somebody loved them and was praying for them.
From that humble beginning, God has caused this ministry to grow and flourish. Today, we have over 5,000 readers around the world. Only God could have done that. So, we give Him thanks, praise, glory and honor for what He has done and continues to do. I sense that God wants us to continue growing and eventually reach 10,000 readers with the news, and most of all with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our mission statement remains the same and is concise and comprehensive:
The electronic flagship of communications serving IPHC ministries and the body of Christ worldwide.
Our Scriptural mission is written in the Book of Daniel:
"And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever" (Daniel 12:3, KJV ).
We trust that you will help us with the financial aspect of this ministry by your generous support beyond the tithes that belong in your church.
We only ask you to pray. Ask the Lord how you should help us at this time. I am confident that He will direct you in how you are to respond.
