There is absolutely nothing like the piano performances of Lonnie and Betty Rex.

When they team together to play the grand old Gospel Hymns and Songs of the church that we all love on twin Baldwin 9 foot concert grand pianos their music stirs our spirits, and lifts our hearts and souls to new heights of joy.

Unfortunately, in many of our Pentecostal Holiness Churches we no longer play and sing the spirited songs that attracted us to the Pentecostal style of worship. Although we appreciate some of the new songs that are being birthed and sung in our churches, we who are older want more of the good old songs that we know by heart. We know every word, and when we face difficulties in life and overwhelming obstacles we cling to the old familiar songs that satisfy our hearts and minds. Why? It is because they are Biblical, have a tune and offer harmony parts, and the lyrics or words even rhyme. Most of all, they draw us back to Jesus Who loves us with an unfailing love, and we know His grace is sufficient for us today.

Two of my favorite musical performers at the piano are Lonnie and Betty Rex from Spring, TX. For many years they lived in Tulsa, OK. Lonnie is known throughout the world as the founder of the David Livingstone Foundation. He is known in our Pentecostal Holiness circles as the premiere director of the great Convention Choirs and Orchestras--like General Conferences and Sunday School Conventions, as well as the congregational singing. None have surpassed those great choirs or the singing we have had in years gone by. Lonnie was the director and Betty was always seated at the piano with those gifted and talented fingers producing heavenly music to our ears and hearts.
