Melvine, Greg, and I were greatly blessed on Monday afternoon, to have the Revells family of two adult children and their spouses and a total of 13 beautiful and bright grandchildren visit us. They stood at our front door and out on the sidewalk toward our dormant bermuda grass. Arlette gave the pitch and they all joined in in singing from the oldest to the youngest. Of course, little Sophia and Garrett were not old enough to sing the songs. Sophia is still an infant and is so beautiful. But I can tell you that Havah didn't miss a word. She was standing up front and near to us. Melvine and I keept our eyes on her as her face lit up with joy as she proudly sang the carols with her brothers and sisters. Arlette's lovely alto voice added immeasurably to the singing of the family. I learned that Brennan, the oldest, their son's family, is beginning college at North Greenville University and will be communting from their home.
Arlette Cape Revells is our 2016 Hugh's News Woman of the Year. She and her husband, Lavon Revells, and their adult children, spouses, and 13 grandchildren came in several cars to sing Christmas Carols to us. Their voices were simply beautiful and we noticed that the children knew all of the words of the carols. These young parents are doing something right--teaching their children about God, the coming of the Messiah and being born in Bethlehem of Judea. They are being taught the importance of giving and helping others who are in need. They are learning that God loves each one of them and has a perfect plan for their lives and He will provide for their every need. God has shown Himself strong on behalf of these familes and has provided for them in marvelous ways.
Arlette and Lavon have been blessed with two outstanding children, a boy who is a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in electrical engineering and a girl who is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in early childhood and family development. Their daughter is the oldest. She married a Christian young man who is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a MBA degree. They have three bright and beautiful children: Chase, Victoria and Olivia. Their son married a gifted and talented Christian woman. God has blessed them with 10 beautiful, healthly, and intellligent children: Brennan, David, Gabriella, John-James, Elysiana, Isabella, Havah, Andrew Henry, Garrett and Sophia).
