I have done that (stand and wait) many times when we, members of the Quantico Marine Band, had to stand and wait for President Dwight D. Eisenhower to arrive on the parade grounds at Quantico Marine Base to begin the graduation exercises for the newly commissioned 2nd Lieutenants who had finished the Officer Candidate School. He would the review the troops, and the parade would begin.
Finally, yes, finally, I received a lovely card from President-Elect Donald J. Trump for the four Tie Perfects I sent to the Trump Towers several weeks ago.
It has his signature on it, no doubt a stamped facsimile that was photographed and made into a stamp with black ink. I have such a stamp with my unique signature which I decided on when I was about 16 or 17 years old when I was in high school. How dare such a youth make such a decision that would determine what I do at 84?
What did President-Elect say? I am sure a staff member wrote it.
"Thank you for taking the time to send your kind words of support and thoughtful gift.
"Melania and I greatly appreciate your words of support.
"With best wishes,
"Donald J. Trump"
I attribute this response as well as my gift of 4 Tie Perfects to Allen Clark. He sensed that Donald J.Trump needed them to hold his tie in place.
Who would have thought I would get a response? Well, it did happen. I may need to purchase more to give to President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Over the years I have given away hundreds of Tie-Perfects to men and boys. It is a practical gift to men who wear ties.
