6 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
--presence-chamber, n. The room in which a great personage, as a sovereign, receives company of those entitled to come into His presence.
Presence chamber speaks of the privilege of coming into the presence of God through our relationship with Christ, our Lord. It brings to mind the Garden of Eden, that first place of divine presence--and of human distance. But it has to be the Jewish Tabernacle, with its presence room, that shows that relationship best.
Even so, the Most Holy Place where Jehovah's presence was celebrated by the children of Israel had a veil. Beyond it the High Priest was admitted alone--and that once a year.
Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension celebrated your privilege--and mine--of coming "boldly unto the throne of grace." The sacrifice of Christ provided a "new and living way" of coming into the presence of God.
What a joy to be able to enter God's presence. We know that although God is invisible, through prayer we are made aware of His presence and find joy.
Access by Faith
Thank you Lord, that faith's journey
leads to your gates, into your courts
and into Your Presence Room.
Thank You for extending, not only
Your royal septer, like a shepherd's staff,
but for offering me Your hand.
To come into Your presence
is to come into selahs in the Psalms
and feel the music in the rests.
