In 1985 while working as a church official, I was responsible to visit as many of the churches as possible.
To help out, I was given a book with directions. A book! With written directions! This was before GPS and cell phones.
So, one particular Sunday morning while following directions that were given . . . around 2 hours later I arrived . . . in the middle of a CEMETERY!
I looked around and said to myself, "Well it looks like it's going to be a DEAD service this morning!"
A church member passing by saw me in the cemetery and stopped to take me to the church, which was about a mile further down the road . . . and No . . . the service was not dead!
[Editor's comment: I did not write this story. I am sure it is true. No doubt many of our conference superintendents can attest to its accuracy.]
