Today, June 29, is Gregory Holmes Morgan's 53rd anniversary of his birth date. That was June 29,1964.
Greg was born by C-Section in the Evergreen Hospital in Evergreen in Conecuh County Alabama. The second or third day he was jounced. Melvine's blood is A negative, and mine is A positive. Many people prayed, and God healed him. As I recall, our annual River Springs Camp Meeting was in progress. That was the camp grounds owned by the Alabama Conference near McKenzie, Alabama.
Greg's color cleared up and he was normal.
Melvine and I were in our first pastorate and we loved every minute of it. We had some of the best people in the known world in our church and community. Melvine's father and mother were there. Frances Stewart, Melvine's mother, helped Melvine to look after Greg.
Today, Greg is in Budapest, Hungary. We will celebrate his birthday when he comes home. He is to arrive on July 5th via Turkish Airlines. He has had the time of his life. I think he lost his heart in Budapest, Hungary. He loves the language, the third hardest language in the world to learn. And, he loves the Hungarians.
On Sundays Greg has worked closely with Dan and Rose Smith. Dan is the minister of music at the International Pentecostal Church that meets in the Culture Center. This church was planted by Glenn Howard in the '90s, I believe. Last Sunday, the congregation was required to move to another room for their worship. Greg reported he got to play on a Steinway piano. He was in heaven. He enjoys playing a real piano. Greg has a degree in Music Education from Oral Roberts University.
Greg has had many opportunities to witness and let his light shine for Christ.
Remember Greg in your prayers as he spends the last 7 days in Budapest.
