The Lady Lions stepped onto the field today with a driving intensity to redeem themselves after a 3-0 loss to Auburn University at Montgomery on Tuesday. During the first half, the Lady Lions had four opportunities to score, but unfortunately they were unsuccessful. Early on however, UMO also took three shots that were saved by the Lions goalie, Hannah Welch.
During the second half, both teams remained scoreless, which resulted in two overtimes. In total, the Lady Lions had ten shots that were unfortunately unsuccessful, but their rock solid defense left the Trojans scoreless as well. There were seven saves made by the Lady Lions; the goalie, Hannah Welch, made six of them. Even though the game may not have turned out exactly how the Lady Lions would have wanted, their relentless determination and incredible defense served them well in this tough matchup against the Mount Olive Trojans.
The Lady Lions will take to the field again to play at West Georgia on Wednesday, September 21st at 7:00PM.
