Mrs. Jean Williams, widow of Bishop J. Floyd Williams, has had a stroke--needs your prayer

Word came Saturday evening, December 31, that Mrs. Jean Williams, widow of Bishop J. Floyd Williams, had suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in Oklahoma City.

Although this notification was from a reliable source, I had to make sure that I got the story correct, and obtained permission to publish it.

So, I called my former executive secretary, Ann Phillips of Oklahoma City, who has great ability to check out information like this. So, she immediately called Connie Mash Williams, wife of James Williams, the second son of J. Floyd and Jean Williams. Sure enough, the story was correct, and Mrs. Jean Williams was visiting with James and Connie in their home in Oklahoma City when Jean had the stroke.

Mrs. Jean Williams is in Intensive Care at Mercy Hospital in stable condition. She is able to speak. The doctors are not allowing any visitors, and they may have her unlisted with regard to patient information for that reason.

Connie Williams gave Ann Phillips permission for me to publish this news in Hugh's News so you all could be praying for Mrs. Jean Williams.

We have come to love Jean Williams over the years. When we lived in Oklahoma City when Bishop J. Floyd Williams was the General Superintendent of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, Jean and Melvine became good friends and were involved in a Bible study and prayer group weekly, and our families attended Muse Memorial Church which today is known at River of Life Church, which is now in a new facility on the north side of Oklahoma City.

Melvine and I have already begun to pray for Mrs. Jean Williams. We invite you to pray as well. Let us believe God for a speedy recovery and a return to health and a renewed quality of life. Jean is a Godly woman who dearly loves Jesus.

Let me give you a Scripture on Healing for our prayers for Mrs. Jean Williams:

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24:

“May God Himself, the God Who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One Who called you is completely dependable. If He said it. He will do it! (The Message, Eugene H. Peterson).

Your friend in all seasons,
