Helen Valentine was born April 4, 1912, in Goldsboro, Pennsylvania. Her family moved to the Baltimore area while she was a child.
On June 13, 1931, she married H. H. Valentine in the first wedding ceremony to be broadcast live on radio in Baltimore.
Their ministry began around 1943 and spanned a period of over 40 years. They each played both piano and organ, sang together, and held revival meetings up and down the eastern seaboard. They also did some singing with the original Stamps Quartet. They finally were called to pastor the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Baltimore. H. H. Valentine also served as superintendent of the Mid-Atlantic Conference. They were well-known in the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, H. H. Valentine, in December of 1994. She passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010.
A brief memorial service will be held Friday evening, July 2, 2010, at the Lewis Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A full funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Kingsway Christan Center in Baltimore, followed by interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery beside her husband.
There will be a family visitation on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, from 3 to 7 p. m., at Evans Funeral Chapel, 8800 Harford Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21234
