Mrs. Dora Passuelo passed away Thursday morning, December 9, 2010.
Sister Passuelo was originally from Canada. She and John Passuelo, a native of Argentina were married and served all of their ministerial career in Argentina.
For many years John Passuelo was the Superintendent of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Argentina. Sister Passeulo served faithfully by his side for all of these years.
John and Dora have two daughters and one son. Their son, David, presently serves as Assistant Superintendent of the Argentine Conference. Their grandson, Max Barroso, and his wife, Jessica, now serve with IPHC World Missions as SOWers in charge of The Awakening.
The funeral was held on Friday, December 10, 2010, in Argentina. World Missions Executive Director, Doug Beacham states, “The life of John and Dora have been foundational in bringing the Argentine Pentecostal Holiness Church to the place that it holds today as a strong and thriving part of the Kingdom of God in Argentina. We celebrate her fruitful and faithful life and rejoice in the knowledge in the victory over death we have in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
[Editor's comment: Melvine and I have known the Passuelos for some 47 years. They have been in our home and churches when we conducted World Missions Conventions. Their daughter, Nora, used to baby sit Greg and Stephanie when I was president of Southwestern College (now Southwestern Christian University) when she was a student in the college. I have met Max Barroso and his wife, Jessica. They are very impressive young people who demonstrate leadership abilities.
May God bless the memory of this great Christian lady to all of our hearts. We are grateful for their many sacrifices to serve the Lord.]
