Southwestern Christian University is happy to announce the addition of Kevin Richardson as the new Vice President for University Development.
Mr. Richardson brings more than 12 years of development and marketing experience to Southwestern Christian University (SCU). Before joining SCU, Mr. Richardson served in a wide range of senior development, communications, and leadership positions in both higher education and ministry; most recently serving as Associate Provost at University of the Southwest.
Dr. Ed Huckeby, President of SCU, has high expectations for the Office of University Development. "We are very excited about the skills Mr. Richardson brings to Southwestern," stated Dr. Huckeby. "I am confident his leadership in the areas of development, marketing and alumni relations will assist us in taking the institution to new levels of excellence."
During his tenure at University of the Southwest, Mr. Richardson developed and implemented marketing plans to increase visibility and define the identity of the University; organized and measurably increased support for operating funds that exceeded goals, and led a capital campaign effort resulting in the completion of multiple construction projects.
"I am thrilled to join the Southwestern Christian University family," said Mr. Richardson. "This is a wonderful institution that has positively impacted the lives of thousands of students and I look forward to assisting SCU to continue that legacy."
Earning a B.A. degree in Biblical Studies from Central Bible College and a M.A. degree in Theology from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Mr. Richardson has successfully blended faith and fundraising. He is an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God with deep ties to Oklahoma, having met and married his wife in Stillwater. In addition to serving at University of the Southwest, his experiences have included opportunities to serve Central Bible College, Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, and local churches in Oklahoma and New Mexico.
Mr. Richardson is also an active member of several professional organizations including the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Additionally, he has taken a leadership role in a number of local civic organizations having served as President of the Hobbs Jaycees, Development Chair for the Hobbs Habitat of Humanity Board of Directors, a member of the Hobbs Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and as a Unit Commissioner for the Conquistador Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Kevin and his wife, Jennifer, are the proud parents of Emma, Eli and Josiah.
