What a delight and joy it is for Melvine and me to have so many friends, like each of you, who took the time to make comments on our website, sent e-mails and birthday cards, as well as telephone calls. We feel loved by you, and we love all of you.
Friday evening, we motored over to Fulton County to dine at one of my favorite restaurants--Stoney River Legendary Steaks. We were pleased that Greg and Stephanie could join us for supper. I am a Southern boy and what we eat at noon is dinner; but what we eat in the evening is supper. There is nothing quite like it than to be with your family for a good meal and time of sharing stories, memories, and special events, especially current events.
Melvine bought me a new executive black suit at Men's Warehouse near the Mall of Georgia on Thursday, her birthday. It is being altered even as we speak. She, also, purchased a new white dress shirt and necktie.
As always, I purchased her a birthday card from Hallmark, and Melvine did the same for me. In addition, I gave her a dozen pink roses. Other gifts will follow for Melvine.
After we shopped for my new suit on Thursday, December 16, Melvine's birthday, we went to lunch at the Red Lobster near the Mall of Georgia. We both splurged and ordered the Ultimate Feast with lobster, crab legs, butterfly shrimp, shrimp scampi, a baked potato, and a house salad. Oh, the biscuits are heavenly. We spent two hours of meaningful conversation. There is nothing like talking with your bride of 50+ plus years.
Greg gave me a Hallmark birthday card and the book, Decision Points, by George W. Bush. It has 497 pages which I will devour very soon. The Morgans love the Bush family. We have vacationed in Kennebunkport, Maine, where the Bush summer home is located. I should have listened to Greg and Stephanie to spend one more day and night there in that lovely village on the Atlantic Ocean.
Actually, Kennebunkport was one of many places we visited on our three-week vacation in the early 90s. We drove up the east coast to Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Niagara Falls, New York, and all across Canada to Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal, down through New Hampshire, Boston, Philadelphia, and other key cities. Those are wonderful memories we often discuss as a family.
Stephanie gave me a lovely Hallmark card and a new argyle sweater. She drove us in her new Honda CR-V Ex-L to dine at Stoney River Legendary Steaks. I had made reservations, and we got right in. I told Stephanie to use the valet parking service. That was a good decision.
We want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May everything good from God our heavenly Father be yours.
