Bishop Jimmy Whitfield is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Holmes Bible College. I can tell you that he is doing an exceptional job in offering leadership to the college we all love and treasure.
In a recent letter that Bishop Whitfield sent to alumni and friends of Holmes Bible College he challenged all of us to make a special gift at this Christmas season for the faculty and staff at Holmes Bible College.
Great progress is being made under the leadership of Bishop James D. Leggett, our new president, in bringing a renewed relationship between the church and the college. God has uniquely prepared him for this mission in his life and the life of the college. He has faced and is continuing to face some difficult challenges as he endeavors to increase enrollment, build two new dormitories, and pay off major indebtedness. Now is the time for all of us to pray for him, the college, and lift up his hands as our new president.
Let me share what Bishop Whitfield shared in his letter:
"God is faithful in tough times and good times. No one knows that truth by experience more than the faithful faculty and staff at Holmes Bible College. A developing new campus is of little value without a faculty and staff to service the purpose of the school.
"This Christmas we need to give our very best gift to the people who do so much for so little remuneration. Sacrifice is their daily experience. I urge you to help us make Christmas special for them this year. Please send your Christmas donation to the Faculty Fund as soon as possible. It will make their Christmas shopping for their families possible without having to wait until the last minute.
"Thank you for all you do for the training of ministers, missionaries, chaplains, and Christian workers at Holmes Bible College.
