A report from Bishop Doug Beacham following his eye surgery:
I wanted to thank you for all your prayers for me during my recent eye surgery and recovery.
I returned to my doctor yesterday morning, Monday, October 10, 2011. Susan and I are rejoicing at the excellent report he gave me. The right eye is back to 20/30 vision (with glasses) and he said that in the coming weeks it should continue to improve. I can see normally with both eyes and can easily tell that I am almost fully recovered. The retina is fully healed and normal. A small cataract was forming and we rejoiced that he told me it is very small and probably will not need any attention for two or three years. We are especially thankful that the eye pressure is well within the normal range. Needless to say, we are continuing to thank the Lord for His healing grace!
I am back to normal activities, including flying and golf! I am especially thankful that I am back to reading and writing! Susan, who is a pharmacist, has been a great nurse to me and her medical wisdom has really helped me. I am also thankful that Dr. Harold Dalton's wife Anna is also improving from her detached retina.
I want to thank the World Missions Ministries staff for the outstanding job that have done while I have been restricted. They are so committed to Christ and to serving the worldwide IPHC and do it with joy and excellence.
Thank all of you for your continued prayers for Linda Fannin and her children. I will have more details for you about the funeral later this afternoon or early Wednesday morning. God bless you and thank you again for all your prayers for me.
Sincerely,
Doug Beacham
