Lee Grady--a prophet of hope for these uncertain times, Psalm 72:9

If you have never met or heard Lee Grady, the new editor of IPHC Experience, the official magazine of the IPHC, both in printed form and digital online on the Internet, you have missed seeing and hearing a dynamic young man with wisdom beyond his years, and the gracious hand of God upon his life and ministry. He is an excellent writer, but also, a gifted speaker in the 21st Century.

On Tuesday morning, February 1, 2011, Lee Grady spoke about the future of the IPHC. He said people have little hope today, even people in the church.

He had the privilege of interviewing George W. Bush on a flight from Austin, TX, to Maine in 2000 when he was running for president, against Al Gore. He asked him about his faith and foreign policy. He shared with Mr. Bush Psalm 72. You will need to read it. Look especially at verse 9. With the threat of Islam in our world today, we need to understand that "the desert nomads shall bow before Him (Jesus); His enemies shall fall face downward in the dust" (v. 9).  In verse 19, the Psalmist says "the whole earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord."

Grady exhorted us to remember that Jesus is still on the Throne . . . regardless of what's happening in our country and world. His Kingdom will continue to increase.

He asked God to bind the spirit of fear in our churches and in our nation. He inspired us to ask God for big things for He alone does wonderful things.  Blessed be His glorious Name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with His glory. This should be our daily prayer.

Lee Grady took us to the passage of Scripture in Genesis 26, about Isaac contending for his future. He had his severants dig wells that his father, Abraham, had his servants dig years earlier. They had been filled up with trash. He had a sophisticated trash can that was a tall cooler for drinks. He began throwing out five bags that had been filled with trash and threw them from the platform to the floor below to illustrate his story effectively. We got it.

God told Issac not to fear. In verse 24, God spoke to him . . . "I am the God of Abraham your father. Fear not, for am with you and will bless you, and give you so many descendants that will become a great nation--because of my promise to Abraham, who obeyed me. Verse 25, the Isaac built an altar and worshiped Jehovah; and he settled there, and his servants dug a well."

It was there at Rehoboth that God gave Isaac peace, and his enemies sought him out to make peace.  It was here that the water began flowing again.

Lee gave us three keys for our ministry:

1.  Intentional--we must have a heart for all people

2.  Authentic--genuine

3.  Communication--is critical

Five things that have clogged our wells:

1.  Legalism and religiosity--some don't want to move past 1975

2.  Racism--Jesus loved people, all people

3.  Denominationalism--we need a fresh apostolic spirit

4.  Unforgiveness and division in our midst--mean spirited people

5.  Get rid of egotism

God is not interested in building celebrities, moments of Babel. Pride is a stench in the nostrils of God. We must invest in the next generation.
