LCDR Timothy R. Moore, Chaplain, United States Navy reports to Chaplains Ministries Board

I am now in my eleventh year of service as a Navy Chaplain. My billets have included a ship in New Jersey, a chapel in Sicily, and a Marine Corps assignment in North Carolina. My current job is the command chaplain for 18 Submarines in Hawaii (hey, someone has to do it). My family has endured two separations with deployments to the Persian Gulf during 9/11 and a tour in Iraq in 2005-06. I am indebted to the IPHC for allowing me to fulfill God’s calling upon my life. Never once have I doubted God’s direction for me in this ministry and am certain that He has used me in countless ways to touch the lives of others for His glory. This has only been possible because this board approved and has continued to support me in this calling.

The other day a Sailor came into my office with multiple problems. His wife had left him, his jeep had been stolen and his wallet was lost with more than $1200 inside. Briefly, he left my office committed to Christ; he got 30 feet out of my office when a friend sent him text to let him know his wallet had been found with ALL of the money inside. The Sailor called me later that evening to let me know his wife was flying back to the island and they were coming to see me about marriage counseling and a home church! God is good! This was possible only because you have given me a place to serve our King! (I’m still praying that God finds that boy’s jeep!).

Please keep me in your prayers. In February 2011, I will transfer to Portsmouth, Virginia and serve the US Coast Guard as the Chaplain for all Coast Guard assets from New Jersey to North Carolina with additional duties as Deputy Chaplain for USCG Atlantic Fleet. I will be considered for a possible promotion to Commander during the same month. God has given me favor and His blessing within the Navy Chaplain Corps. Pray that God will continue to use me for His glory.

Again, thank you for the scholarship money, your prayers and a place to serve. God bless you, Chaplains Ministries and the International Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Very Respectfully,

Timothy R. Moore, LCDR, CHC, USN
Command Chaplain
Naval Submarine Support Command

[Editor's Note: It is so refreshing to find a young man committed to Almighty God and one who desires to serve a noble cause among the brave men and women in the United States Navy which includes Marines, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines. I consider it a high honor and privilege to have endorsed Chaplain Timothy R. Moore as commissioned officer in the sea services as a chaplain. He is an ordained minister in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, Inc., with membership in the Upper South Carolina Conference. I know that his father and mother, Bishop Ronald Q. and Doris Moore, and his two brothers, David and Phillip are very proud of him, as well as his wife, Pam, and their four children: Jessica, Isaac, Emily, and Joseph. Let us all stand, and salute Chaplain Timothy Moore.]
