It is with genuine sense of pleasure and sanctified pride that I am able to announce to my Hugh's News readers that Navy Chaplain Marc McDowell has completed all course work for the Doctor of Ministry degree in Ethics at Erskine Theological Seminary.
The photo is of General David Petraeus and Chaplain Marc McDowell in Iraq. Marc has been deployed to Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
The commencement ceremony will take place at Due West ARP Church (112 North Main Street), in Due West, SC, on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 4 p. m.
Marc is currently stationed at Fort Jackson at the Naval Chaplains School and Center. He serves on the faculty and staff, and is responsible for writing curriculum for the school. He is an ordained minister of the Cornerstone Conference (formerly known as the Western North Carolina Conference). He is a former instructor at Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC.
Marc is married to the former Miss Norma Gaye Ford of Franklin Springs, GA. They have three outstanding children who are growing up fast into adulthood. They are Joanna, 20; Jesse and Jarrod (twins) 18.
