The ministry of Air Force Chaplain Randy Sellers is going on night and day in Afghanistan. While his ministry of presence is vital to the wounded and dying soldiers, he would like to give them a Psalm 91 Prayer Bandanna. We are only half-way in reaching our goal of $1,997.50.
Our goal is to purchase 250 Psalm 91 Prayer Bandannas. They cost $7.99 a piece.
Chaplain Sellers has been there almost a month. He will have only five more moths to go. I would like to order the Psalm 91 Prayer Bandannas and have them shipped immediately to him. He needs this resource tool to give as a reminder of the Presence of God, His Promises, His Provision, His Protection, and His Providence in the lives of the soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and guardsmen. He is ministering to your young men who are fighting for our country and the freedom for the people of Afghanistan.
Their sacrifice is great--far greater than we can imagine. Now is the time to give to provide this valuable resource for one of our IPHC chaplains in the thick of the conflict in this war-torn country.
I need your support now. As soon as we achieve our goal, I will inform you. When that happens I will ask that the giving cease. My goal is to raise only the money that is needed for this one project for Chaplain Sellers.
I would like to thank you in advance for your generous giving. You have always come through to meet the need whenever a challenge and opportunity to give has been made. Every dollar you give will be used for this project.
Chaplain Sarah Tarpley has given $100 out of her need. She has planted this seed in hope that she will be commissioned in the Army Chaplaincy shortly after 1 October 2010. She has been selected for active duty in the Army, but they are waiting on funds to commission her as an officer. She is currently in the Air Force Reserve. The Air Force is stingy when it comes to taking on new chaplains. They have a limit of only 12 Protestant chaplains each year. Sarah would have made a great female chaplain in the active duty of the Air Force. However, she will do an equal or better ministry in the Army as a chaplain to men and women in battalions. She is an athlete and played basketball for Southwestern Christian University. Sarah has held her head up high and maintained her faith in the God Who has called her to be a military chaplain. I have stood with her through her disappointments, and she is a winner. I praise God for Sarah Tarpley.
The Apostle Paul tells us that Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35. NIV ).
Jesus also said, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you" (Luke 6:38. NIV).
The choice is yours and mine. I trust that you will give as the Holy Spirit may direct you.
