Giving above the tithes is a plus in many ways. I have come to understand that the measure I use in giving above the tithes to the church, world missions, evangelism, other fruitful ministries, and worthy causes is somehow related to the measure God gives back to me in blessings beyond money.
Although Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35), He also said, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38, NKJV).
Over the years I have moved from giving a waiter or waitress 10%, to 15%, and now to 20% when I get good service. I have come to realize that the people who serve us in restaurants are paid minimum wages, and that in many cases, not all, Christians are the poorest testimony to unbelieving and sometimes believing servants at these establishments. One of our best testimonies should be in our generosity in giving in appreciation for the service that is rendered.
Today, more than 5,000 readers are enjoying Hugh's News. However, very few of my readers have ever contributed to this ministry. Although I am sure those who read my newsletter are blessed, but somehow just never get around to making a contribution for the service that is rendered accurately, consistently, and faithfully. I understand that we are all busy, and somehow it slips our minds. We are human. Sometimes a little reminder can be useful. I have noted that whenever I get a letter from the IRS, I will open it immediately. Somehow the name IRS gets my attention. How about you?

We are now in the month of July and mid-summer is upon us with vacations, short trips, and many activities that require our money. It is a time when finances usually fall off for non-profit ministries like Hugh's News, but it doesn't have to be. I know from experience that the news will not diminish.
God has been faithful and continues to be faithful to us for over 14 years of the existence of this electronic ministry. He has touched many of your hearts and your pocketbooks to contribute to this ministry. And I am grateful. It is with the voice of thanksgiving that I proclaim God's favor and goodness to Hugh's News through the generous gifts from some of you.
I must confess that I need your prayers as I write and produce this electronic newsletter. God has brought us to this good hour to serve you, your family, and the ministries of the IPHC (International Pentecostal Holiness Church) and the body of Christ worldwide.

It is my prayer that I will always present a positive message that lifts up Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World. Jesus came to save sinners, and to give them eternal life.
