I had almost given up on the idea that I would ever be invited to preach Homecoming at Christian Life Worship Center (formerly known as Tarkenton Memorial Church in Athens, GA).
It has been almost 15 years since I resigned as the pastor of Tarkenton Memorial Church in December 1995, to accept a call from the Richmond First Pentecostal Holiness Church to be their senior pastor.
Our new pastor, the Rev. Mr. J. Brian Williams, my former webmaster, has extended an invitation to me to preach homecoming 2010. What a welcomed invitation to preach. What I miss more than anything else as a pastor is preaching. I feel at home in the pulpit, and I have always endeavored to prepare and get the message that God wants His people to hear.
My sermon topic will be:“Thirsty and Weary: A Deep Well without a Bucket or Rope.”
The Scripture context will be John 4:1-42. The text will be John 4:10, "If you knew the gift of God and Who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water."
I would like to invite you to come to Christian Life Worship Center on Sunday morning, October 17, 2010. The morning worship starts at 10:30 a. m. My family will lbe providing special music. The church is located at 125 Kathwood Drive, Athens, GA.
