My pastor, the Rev. Mr. J. Brian Williams, has asked me to preach in his pulpit this coming Sunday morning, at the 10:50 worship service. That is Christian Life Worship Center (formerly Tarkenton Memorial Church) in Athens, and is located at 125 Kathwood Drive, Athens, GA 30607.
My sermon topic will be "Power to Witness--the Baptism with the Holy Spirit."
Witnessing should be as natural as breathing oxygen when we are energized by the Holy Spirit. People today are open to our witnessing and sharing about Jesus when we are led by the Holy Spirit. I am convinced that we can lead people to Jesus Christ as we are empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Did you know you can minister by your prayer prior to eating in a restaurant? You can include in your prayer not only the waitress or waiter, the cook or cooks, and the management, but those dining in that particular facility. You will be amazed at the response you will get and an opportunity to share the Gospel with those who heard your prayer.
God's Word says, "'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty" (Zechariah 4:6, NIV).
May I extend a cordial welcome for you to come to hear me preach this Sunday, August 28, at 10:50 a. m. I was the pastor of this church for 9 years in the 80s and early 90s, prior to going to Richmond, VA to be the pastor of the Richmond First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
We have an outstanding young pastor who is an expository preacher. He is doing a great job as our pastor, and has the respect of the congregation. The good news is that we are growing, and God is blessing this church.
