Dear Hugh,
My youngest brother, Gwin Garrison, was found dead on Monday, December 12. 2011--per Coroners report--Massive Heart Attack--and various other health issues--he was 60 on December 1.
Please remember us in this time of distress and grief--tomorrow, Thursday, December 15, 2011, 9 a. m. - 11 a. m. will be funeral at Holder Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS.
Brother Leon Stewart called tonight and he will be attending and taking part in the service--Brother Stewart has been an integral part of our family from the days of the 1950s when he was Pastor at Kreole Pentecostal Holiness Church and led my Father to Christ--my Father died at age of 51 of lung cancer.
Life can be so complicated and cruel because of the curse--and we bear the burden of it.
Thank you for your prayers tomorrow
Ramona Garrison Ready
[Editor's Comment: As I read Ramona's e-mail I thought of what Jesus said to his dear friends, Mary and Martha, the two sisters of Lazarus who had died. He said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26, NIV).
I have known Ramona for many years. I know her brother Joaquin Garrison. He used to be the pastor of the Pensacola Pentecostal Holiness Church, and Christian Heritage Pentecostal Holiness Church in Memphis, TN. He is a gifted preacher and song writer. Ramona is a gifted singer and used to sing with the Greta Campbell Trio. She can preach, too.
It is fitting and a blessing to this family to have their former pastor, Bishop Leon O. Stewart, to travel to Moss Point, MS, to bring comfort and hope as he meets with this family in grief, and participates in the funeral service.
My heart goes out to Ramona, Joaquin, and other family members.
May the Holy Spirit bring them comfort and peace.]
